A new Management Plan is being developed as part of the lease renewal process for Lot 6 on Texada Island. The Texada Metal Transfer Station currently accepts fridges and freezers for a fee of $25 per unit from residents. One service level improvement identified for the Transfer Station is signing on with MARR to eliminate this fee for residents.
MARR is a not-for-profit stewardship agency created to implement and operate a stewardship plan (see link below) for end-of-life major household appliances in the province of British Columbia on behalf of the major appliance “producers” who are obligated under the BC Recycling Regulation.
The Texada Metal Transfer Station will now accept the following appliances containing refrigerant for FREE during opening hours on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday and 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 10am – 4pm:
