The qathet Regional District (qRD) provides over 43 services to our community, however we often get questions about services we do not provide. Check out the list below, along with the appropriate contact information for those who are responsible for the services.
Maintenance of Highway 101 and all roads in the rural areas in the qRD are a Provincial responsibility administered through the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and their maintenance contractor Capilano Highways Services.

Just like maintenance on our roads, snow removal is also the responsibility of the Provincial Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and their contractor, Capilano Highway Services. Contact Capilano Highway Services at 604-485-9373.
The qRD is not responsible for ferry service to and from Vancouver Island and the lower Sunshine Coast. If you have questions about ferry service, please contact BC Ferries via www.bcferries.com
During the month of June you will receive your property tax notice. If you are a rural property owner in the qRD, your tax notice is sent to you from the Surveyor of Taxes.
Regional Districts do not collect taxes directly from the taxpayer. Instead, taxes for Regional District purposes are collected by the Province and by the member municipalities (City of Powell River).
