The Texada/Gillies Bay Airport (CYGB) is a community airport owned and operated by qathet Regional District and is a service paid for by the taxpayers of Texada Island (Electoral Area D). Our airport hosts a number of annual events including an aerospace camp and fly-in. The airport is also home to the Airbuzz Mk II flight simulator as well as the Texada Aviation Museum and Library.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT IN ORDER TO KEEP OUR STAFF, CUSTOMERS AND COMMUNITY SAFE, WE HAVE BEEN EXERCISING PROTOCOLS SUGGESTED BY THE PROVINCIAL HEALTH OFFICER, MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND HEALTH EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT BC. OUR AIRPORT TERMINAL AND PUBLIC WASHROOMS WILL REOPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON JULY 1ST. CAMPING WILL ALSO BE PERMITTED AGAIN ON JULY 1ST. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY LIMITS WILL BE POSTED AND ENFORCED. Scheduled flights to and from the airport are currently suspended; however, qathet Regional District is actively pursuing a qualified airline to reinstate the service.
