This charming well-maintained community airport is a great stop over for aviation enthusiasts. Visitors can park during the day and explore the local hiking trails and beaches, or choose to camp overnight alongside their aircraft.

Texada Island is the largest of the Northern Gulf Islands (50 km long and 10 km wide). The airport is located mid-island, approximately 3 km northwest of the village of Gillies Bay, making Gillies Bay, which hosts restaurants, bed & breakfasts, and a general store, a 20-minute bicycle ride from the airport (a five-minute drive or a 50-minute walk). Bikes, supplied by Island volunteers, are available to borrow by donation.

An onsite caretaker lives adjacent to the terminal building at the Texada/Gillies Bay Airport and is available to assist you during your stay. A small waiting room inside the terminal building provides shelter, a public washroom, and potable water.

Ground transportation from the airport is limited and no rental vehicles are available at the airport.
Under-wing camping is welcome along with grass campsites with fire rings and picnic tables. There are no shower facilities.

Hangar sites are available for lease through qathet Regional District. To be placed on the hangar wait list, please contact the Airport Manager.

Aircraft tie-downs are available for daily, monthly and annual rates. See Fees & Charges Bylaw. There is a small fee for interim aircraft parking and spaces are limited.
