Shelter Point Regional Park is a popular beach-front day-use park and campground located on Texada Island. The park is broken down into the main campground and the Bella Maria campground. qathet Regional District proudly operates this family-friendly park. Onsite caretakers Tyler and Sophia are available to assist with visitor’s needs. The park is open for camping year-round, though many of the facilities are only available during the summer camping season.
Please note that the park gate is locked in the evening and opened again early in the morning. In case of emergency, the caretakers are available to open the gate. For more information see the Reservations, Check-in Policies & Access Restrictions page.

4919 Shelter Point Road, Gillies Bay, BC
Shelter Point Park is located on the west shores of Texada Island, just south of the residential community of Gillies Bay.
To get to Shelter Point Park, you must take a 35 minute BC Ferries ride from Westview in Powell River to Blubber Bay on Texada Island. You will exit the ferry onto Blubber Bay Road, follow Blubber Bay Road until you get to the south side of the community of Van Anda and take a right turn onto Gillies Bay Road. Follow Gillies Bay Road all the way to the park. There are signs from the ferry directing you to the park. The drive takes about 20 minutes in good weather.
