qathet Regional District’s Manager of Technical Services awarded Terry Pile Effect Award for efforts to increase organizational risk intelligence

qathet, BC – The Municipal Insurance Association of British Columbia (MIABC) has awarded Nancy Schmeister, Manager of Technical Services, the Terry Pile Effect Award for her considerable efforts within the qathet Regional District to educate staff, and elected officials on risk awareness.

 

Mrs. Schmeister is recognized for her efforts in establishing and maintaining robust and comprehensive cybersecurity training, policies and protocols; reducing risk to the organization in the areas of procurement and contracting, and her avocation for the long-term sustainability of organization’s service delivery through a risk management lens. The Terry Pile Effect Award recognizes an individual who demonstrates dedication, collaboration, teamwork and leadership to increasing risk intelligence in local government and is a strong advocate for MIABC’s vision and values. Formed in 1987 by 144 local governments who could not find reasonable insurance coverage, MIABC is a member owned and operated risk pool designed to support communities across the province. MIABC provides comprehensive insurance coverage, risk management training, and legal services to its membership. MIABC serves almost 90 percent of British Columbia’s local governments, serving 50 percent of the population.
