Haywire Bay Regional Park & Campground

PARK OPENS THURSDAY, MAY 2, 2024 AT 12:00 NOON

Haywire Bay Regional Park is a popular seasonal day-use park and campground. qathet Regional District proudly operates this family-friendly park and employs an on-site park caretaker, Morgan Huxter, to assist with visitor’s needs.

 

Please note that the vehicle access gate is locked between 10:00pm and 6:00am. In case of emergency, the caretaker is available to open the gate. For more information see the Reservations, Check-in Policies & Access Restrictions page.

7020 Powell Lake, Powell River, BC

Haywire Bay Regional Park is located on the southeast shore of Powell Lake about 7 km from the City of Powell River on the upper Sunshine Coast.

From the BC Ferry Terminal in Westview: turn left onto Marine Avenue/Hwy. 101 at the stop light at the top of the hill coming off the ferry. Turn right on Alberni Street, turn left on Manson Avenue and then right on Cassiar Street. Cassiar Street veers left and turns into Yukon Street. Stay on Yukon until you reach Haslam Street and turn right on Haslam. Follow Haslam and veer left on Inland Lake Road. Continue on the gravel road and follow the signs to reach the park.

 

From the BC Ferry Terminal at Saltery Bay: stay on Hwy. 101 as you come off the ferry until you reach the downtown city core of Powell River. The highway turns into Marine Avenue. Follow Marine through downtown and turn right at the stop lights on Alberni Street. Turn left on Manson Avenue and then right on Cassiar Street. Cassiar Street veers left and turns into Yukon Street. Stay on Yukon until you reach Haslam Street and turn right on Haslam. Follow Haslam and veer left on Inland Lake Road. Continue on the gravel road and follow the signs to reach the park.
